South Bend Riley Football Season 2024 Preview

SOUTH BEND – Last year was a record-breaking year for the South Bend Riley football team, which won its first conference title since 1965.

However, the ending left a bitter aftertaste.

After going 8-1 and posting a 5-0 record in the Northern Indiana Conference North-South Division during the regular season, the Wildcats lost an opening Class 4A game to Wawasee, 8-1. Still, head coach Darrick Lee knows the team can build on this season.

“We've been fortunate to be in a position where the guys who are stepping into leadership roles – they may have played different positions last year, but they've been part of our program,” Lee said. “They know what our expectations are, they know our standard and what we're trying to accomplish, both on and off the field.”
