The ultrasonic leak detector has been improved to better locate leaks

EXAIR's new Ultrasonic Leak Detector (ULD), a portable device designed to locate the source of costly leaks in a compressed air system, has been improved in appearance and function. The EXAIR ULD can play an important role in identifying and locating costly leaks that often go undetected, enabling quick repair and cost savings. Testing the various connections, pipes, valves and fittings of a complete installation can be done quickly and effectively from a distance of up to 20 feet (6.1 m).

High pressure gases create high frequency turbulence when they enter a lower pressure area, creating an ultrasonic or “white noise” sound that is outside the range of human hearing. The ULD can detect these vibrations and produces an audible tone through the included earbuds as well as a front-facing LED indicator that shows the intensity as it approaches the leak origin. The ULD can be set to filter out background noise in busier facilities using the “+” or “-” buttons to fine-tune sensitivity. This new model offers an improved ability to detect leaks in hard-to-reach areas, while also complying with the IEC 61326-1 standard, which characterizes its ability to operate in typical electromagnetic environments commonly found in industrial facilities.

The Model 9207 Ultrasonic Leak Detector is CE compliant and comes complete with a hard shell plastic case, ear tips, pipe adapter, pipe extension and AA batteries.
