Bold Lakers predictions for the best signings and transfers in the 2024 NBA offseason | News, results, highlights, stats and rumors

Despite approaching his 40th birthday, which will unlikely be this December, LeBron James shows little signs of aging. His seemingly endless list of accolades, which recently included the award for Best Player of the Olympics, reflects this.

While he hasn't lost his spot on the All-NBA squad, he's finished on the third team each of the last three seasons. That's a remarkable feat for almost anyone else, but it's not the peak of his powers that LeBron once reached.

Reversing that trend is nearly impossible, and yet this Olympic performance was a reminder that James can still call upon the skills of one of the best players in the world. He'll need to pace those power-ups to avoid wearing himself out during the 82-game marathon, but it shouldn't take much more than he already does to make the jump to the first or second team.

Even a repeat of his performance from the 2023-24 season, when he averaged 25.7 points, 8.3 assists and 7.3 rebounds in 71 games, could be enough if the Lakers become just a touch more competitive. If he provides that volume and efficiency (54% shooting overall, 41% from the three-point line) for a team that's locking in a top-six seed in the ultra-competitive Western Conference, it's hard to imagine All-NBA voters denying him a first- or second-team spot.
