The house in Simi Valley, California, was once the setting for the 1982 horror classic “Poltergeist,” which focused on the Freeling family.

The house has not been on the market since 1979 until recently.

Now the Californian residence is being sold for a whopping $1.175 million.

The property ad, from Lauren Murdock of Equity Union Real Estate, speaks of “spooky antics.”

“This is the house where much of the first movie in the franchise was filmed, but 'this house is clean… seriously, it is!'” the ad said.

It also said: “The home is ready to welcome a new family, and no spooky antics, we promise!”

The iconic horror house had four bedrooms with two and a half bathrooms.

The listing says the home has a “thoughtful layout perfect for entertaining, relaxing and enjoying life to the fullest.”

In addition, the California property extends over two floors and features a dining room connected to the kitchen, “which fans of the film will love as it is still in its original form but equipped with modern appliances.”

It also has a garage for three cars and a pool with diving board and jacuzzi.

The agents pointed out that the 1,500 square meter lot could potentially “be divided and used to build a second house.”

It is also said that in addition to “great schools, parks, shopping [and] Eat.”

CURSED HOME?

The listing specifically stated that the film was not haunted, after there had been many rumors that the film was cursed since its release in 1982.

In the same year that the film was released, actress Dominique Dunne was murdered by her boyfriend at the age of just 22.

Six years after the film's premiere, actress Heather O'Rourke died during an operation in 1988 – she was only 12 years old.

In addition, Poltergeist also brought horror into real life in unconventional ways.

In 2022, JoBeth Williams announced that real human remains were used in the production of the film.

“I always assumed the skeletons were made by the props department,” JoBeth told Vanity Fair.
