Going to the movies with my family of four now costs about $100. I love going to the movies, especially for the popcorn, but I don't go as often as I would like because it has become so expensive. According to Statista.com, the average movie ticket price in 2023 was $11.90.

The tickets alone can easily cost $50 for all of us, and the snacks like popcorn and drinks can cost almost as much as the tickets. People have been trying to save money at the movies for ages, often by secretly bringing candy. While candy is the usual choice, some Minnesotans admit to bringing even more.
