Debby Storm Update

Debby has undergone the transition to a “post-tropical” climate, which essentially means it now resembles a typical low pressure system rather than a tropical system.

What is left of Debby is still deal a good blow and will bring at times heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms to New England until the early hours of Saturday.

The Storms Predictions Center classifies the risk of severe weather in central and western Massachusetts as “low” and the risk of tornadoes as two percent.

Further east, closer to Boston, atmospheric parameters for Friday night are not as prone to severe weather. However, we cannot rule out some severe storms in eastern Massachusetts.
