San Antonio theme parks are investing in new attractions for 2025.

San Antonio is known as the “Theme Park Capital of Texas” for good reason, as it has a total of 1,600 acres of attractions and amusement parks. And almost all of the parks are undergoing multimillion-dollar expansions planned for 2025.

While Visit San Antonio does not count how many people come solely for the theme parks, Six Flags Fiesta Texas reported 22.2 million visitors to its parks in 2023 and SeaWorld San Antonio reported its parks were visited by 26.7 million guests that same year.

Here's what happens:

Six Flags Fiesta Texas

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is completing a $1.5 million, 160,000-square-foot DC Universe project that will add new attractions, park improvements and three new rides, the park's website states: “We are creating the largest DC Universe in any theme park in the United States.”

“The addition of three new rides and the redesign of several others creates the largest and most exciting DC Universe at any theme park in the United States. We are excited to introduce this truly immersive experience to our guests,” said Jeffrey Siebert, President of Six Flags Fiesta Texas.

New rides at SixFlags Fiesta Texas include Cyborg Cyber Revolution, Shazam! Tower of Eternity and Metropolis Transit Authority.

Additionally, some rides were upgraded and converted into The Penguin: Gotham City Getaway, Supergirl Sky Flight and Poison Ivy Toxic Spin.

According to TDLR project documents, construction work is scheduled to be completed in October.

Six Flags Fiesta Texas is open year-round. The season at Hurricane Harbor water park ends on September 2nd.

Day passes start at $29. Season passes start at $79.

SHAZAM! Tower of Eternity will be included in Six Flags Fiesta Texas' DC Universe, scheduled to open in October.

SeaWorld San Antonio and Aquatica

SeaWorld San Antonio announced a $6 million, 150,000-square-foot expansion for 2025, according to documents filed July 9 with the Texas Department of License and Regulation.

According to project details, construction is scheduled to begin on August 19 and be completed in March 2025.

According to the scope of services, the new project is a “**closed offer – confidential project*** park for new construction and renovation.”

SeaWorld San Antonio declined to comment on the future project.

There has been speculation that the attraction will be named Rescue Jr. or will be themed similar to Wave Breaker, the conservation-themed roller coaster added in 2017.

Aquatica recently opened Tikitapu Splash, the 15,000-square-foot “ultimate water playground for kids.” and SeaWorld San Antonio opened Catapult Falls in the spring, “the world's only vertical lift roller coaster,” which lifts riders more than 52 feet in an elevator and then plunges them into the water at 37 miles per hour at a 53-degree angle, making it “the steepest drop on a log flume.”

SeaWorld San Antonio is open year-round. Aquatica's season ends in October.

The summer sale runs through August 11. Day passes start at $46.99. Season passes start at $104.99.

Morgan's Wonderland

The highly accessible Morgan's Wonderland theme park reopened in the spring after a $6.5 million expansion.

The expansion included a 4D cinema in the Sensory Village that gave viewers the feel of a roller coaster ride, a passenger boat ride with views, a newly added zipline adventure over the lake and a wheelchair accessible ride.

The 2024 season ends on November 4 and the park will reopen in spring 2025.

Day passes start at $26 for children and $34 for adults. Season passes start at $40.
