Celtics opponents for 2024-25 NBA season announced on Christmas Day

If the casual NBA fan is thinking about basketball at all right now, it's because he's watching the game as part of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. For the diehard Boston Celtics fan, however, the summer lull is a time when he longs to see his favorite team back on the court.

And we just got a juicy piece of news from the Athletic's Shams Charania about the NBA's (and the Celtics') schedule for the 2024-25 season. The respected Athletic newsbreaker has announced Boston's opponent for their Christmas Day game, and it should be a matchup worthy of the honor. According to Charania, the Celtics will face Paul George and the newly formed Philadelphia 76ers at TD Garden on December 25, 2024.

Other games reportedly scheduled for that day include the San Antonio Spurs at the New York Knicks, the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Dallas Mavericks, the Los Angeles Lakers at the Golden State Warriors and the Denver Nuggets at the Phoenix Suns.
