Channing Tatum still hopes to make the “Gambit” movie

Channing Tatum still hopes to gambit The film will be revived five years after its cancellation.

The 44-year-old actor had originally hoped to play the Marvel Comics character in 2009. X-Men Origins: Wolverine However, since he was unavailable for filming, the role went to Taylor Kitsch instead, and Channing later committed to reviving the story in a standalone film. However, the project was in development limbo for years before it was finally shelved in 2019.

Tatum got the chance to take on the role of the character and make a cameo appearance in this summer blockbuster. Deadpool and Wolverine and he hopes it will breathe new life into his stalled superhero project. When asked if he still hopes the film will be made, he said diversity: “I hope so.”

Tatum further revealed that he had made it clear to film bosses that he was still interested in the project, adding: “[Of] Of course I said it. I have been saying for 10 years that I want it. It is in [Disney boss] Bob Iger and [Marvel President] Kevin Feige's hands. I pray to God.”

The actor previously thanked Dead Pool star Ryan Reynolds for finally giving him the chance to play Gambit on screen in his cameo role, stressing that he was “so grateful” to have been included in the cast.

In a post on Instagram, Tatum wrote: “There is hardly anyone who has had my back more in this industry than Ryan. I thought I had lost Gambit forever. But he fought for me and Gambit. I will probably owe him forever.”

“I don't know how I could ever do anything that would equal what this has meant to me,” he added. “I love you, buddy… Everything happens for a reason. I'm so grateful to be in this film. In my opinion, it's a masterpiece. And just pure, badass joy. I was literally screaming in the theater.”
