Re:ZERO – Starting a life in another world debuted in 2016 and the anime has since gained an impressive fan base. However, after a wait of three and a half years, the highly anticipated third season has fallen victim to a leak ahead of its October release date.

How was Re:ZERO Season 3 leaked?

The Subject: ZERO The premiere of the third season was originally planned for the end of October this year. However, the 90-minute first episode of the upcoming season has now appeared online on several pirate websites.

The leak from Subject: ZERO comes shortly after a screening of the premiere last month at the Japan Expo in Paris was canceled for unknown reasons. A clear version of the episode was then released online on August 7, with French subtitles and a watermark linking the video to the Expo in July.

Have more anime episodes leaked?

Subject: ZERO is the latest in a series of unfortunate leaks that have affected a number of titles set to be released later this year. Among the most important are the Netflix titles Terminator Zero, Dandadan, Ranma1/2And Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain. Crunchyroll titles affected outside of Subject: ZERO contain Sound! Euphonium 3, KonoSuba Season 3 and Astro Notealthough these titles were leaked in April and may or may not be related to the current leaks.

These leaks are already being dubbed the “biggest leak disaster in anime history,” and Anime News Network reports that the latest leaks were first discovered when low-resolution clips with watermarks and timestamps began appearing online. Although neither Netflix nor Crunchyroll have officially commented on the leaks, there have been reactions from creators as well as the general anime community. Kass Chapa tweeted on X that the leaks were “incredibly disrespectful and just plain annoying.”

The official release of Re:ZERO on Crunchyroll is scheduled for October.
